After almost three centuries, New Orleans still begins at the riverfront.  It’s the heart and soul of the city’s history.  There’s no better place to discover the essence of New Orleans.  And no place to experience it like River City Plaza.

The plaza takes you right to where the New Orleans meets the river.  You can feel the majesty of the Mighty Mississippi, rolling toward the Gulf of Mexico under the dramatically lit twin bridges.

Mardi Gras World is located along the Mississippi River, just upriver of the Convention Center and the Crescent City Connection bridge (US 90 - Pontchartrain Expressway).

Parking is available for a nominal fee (about $5).

If you're walking or taking a cab, it's just over a mile from Canal Street.

Public transit options:

  • #2 Riverfront streetcar (½ mile walk)
  • #5 Marigny-Bywater bus (1 block walk)
  • #10 Tchoupitoulas bus (¼ mile walk)

Check the RTA website for schedules and maps, and pay attention to the times that daily service ends. Note that to return to the French Quarter after the Patry, only the #10 offers service after 11 pm.
