Threadhead Volunteers Help Zulu Diamondcutters

2008 will mark the 3rd year that Threadhead volunteers from all over the world have joined forces to help the Zulu Diamondcutters staff their fundraising beer tent on the Jazz Fest grounds.

In 2006 many of the ZDC krewe members had not returned after Katrina and the Diamondcutters were in danger of having to give up their biggest yearly fundraiser for lack of volunteers. Nearly 60 Threadheads stepped up and helped staff the tent that year. They dubbed themselves Ms Lena's Brigade. In the years since, helping out the ZDC has become such an integral part of the Jazz Fest experience for many Threadheads that they continue to volunteer their Jazz Fest time to help.

Helping the ZDC raise money that will go back into the community in the form of community service projects is just another way the Threadhead community has found to give back to the city that has brought them so much joy.
